I have been neglecting this corner. I am back and will try to find time to answer any questions there are here. I will write mostly in English and occasionally in Chinese, but have no trouble reading any posts made in Chinese '')

I appreciate your warm and trusting welcome to a guy you do not know. I started this little corner a few years ago, and then got tied up with other activities.
I have an interest in languages. I have written a book on language learning and have two websites on the subject, both of which can be accessed free of charge.
I am a believer in an input based approach to language learning, with lots of listening and reading and emphasis on acquiring vocabulary through input as the main activity of the language learner.
If you can understand everything you will be able to speak well. Until you understand very well, do not worry too much about mistakes and pronunciation. That has been my approach.

Hey! I do not mind the "gentleman' part but watch whom you are calling old.

I think what webdriver had said is a typical Chinese English. old gentleman in Chinese English = 网络老人儿。不是说= 老龄先生? b#)

请您解释一下。 我的头脑其实老了。本来也没装上太多东西。 再说中文和中国文化又广又深。我的了解也浅。
