7B->Highway 1
我从Maple ridge市中心到Richmond,7B->highway 1->new west local way->91->99,快则50分钟,慢则70分钟。

If there is a accident on Maple Ridge side, it will take you forever to get to Vancouver DT.
Listen to the traffice every morning, Marry Hill By Pass is another slow traffic place.

Maple Ridge to Downtown by Westcoast Express, it will take 40 minutes, it is a luxury train with cost $190 per month.
To New Westminster Braid skytrain station by two zones bus 791 with cost $90, 40-50 minutes, in every 30 minutes in working day.
Drive to BCIT in Burnaby 30-50 minutes.
Driving to Coquitlam Center with T&T, 15~25 minutes.
Driving to Surrey with T&T by new Golden ear bridge will be 15~25 minutes.
There are two new bridges will be opened in this Summer and Autumn, Golden ear bridge (connect lanely and surrey) and Pitt River Bridge, After that, the traffic will be much better.
My suggestion is that:
If you are working in Richmond or Vancouver west, it is not a good idea to buy house in Maple Ridge.
If you are working in Burnaby, New West, North Vancouver, or Tri-Citites, and Fraser Valley, living in Maple Ridge will be better choice than in Richmond, certainly, the best location in metro Vancouver is Burnaby, but it is worthless if the housing price is 2~3 times higher than in Maple Ridge.
In 242th street, there is a two top schools(private elementary and high school) in BC, Maple Meadow school and Maple Ridge Christian school, you can search the ranking from Fraser Institute Report.
The only bad thing of living in Maple Ridge I can imagine is too less Chinese, your children may feel lonely in the public school.
Also, just only have 6 to 10 chinese restaurants in Maple Ridge.
I have lived in Maple Ridge for 3 years.
I can afford my children to go to the top ranking private school in Maple Ridge because I can save a lots comparing to buying a house in Burnaby. the price difference is around 500,000~600,000 for a single house in Maple Ridge (500,000).
My feeling is that I will live here for ever, it is a so nice place .
Quiet, peaceful, beautiful, or so kindly neighbour.
