“BC: Drivers, from either direction, are to slow down when approaching an emergency vehicle or tow truck that is displaying flashing lights and which is stopped on or beside an undivided roadway. In addition, drivers in the lane occupied by or adjacent to a stopped emergency vehicle are to move into another lane to pass if it is safe to do so.
If the highway is divided by a concrete median or equivalent separation, vehicles travelling in the opposite direction are not required to slow.
On roads with a speed limit of 80 km/h and above, drivers must slow to 70 km/h.
On roads with a speed limit below 80 km/h, drivers must slow to 40 km/h.
Failure to obey will result in a fine of $173 and demerit points.”
