If you go to South Africa, Botswana, Zimbabwi, Namibia etc (Southern Africa), I would suggest you consider going there in June or July rather than early month of the year like January. The reason is that since that is southern hemisphere, during june or july it is what we call dry season, and you can see a lot of aminals gathering around the water pool instead of scattering around during the wet season. So you will see a lot of wildlife in the Game Reserve up there during your safari in June or July. The trade off is that Victoria Falls won't have much water as it has during the wet season.
One more thing, travelling in southern africa requires vaccination shots for diseases.
