老公接了儿子们回来了。大儿子沮丧地对我说,"我的英文作业只拿了C+。"说着眼泪也下来了~

原来是那个儿子比较得意的图文并茂之作。他在期待一个A。儿子接着说:"我认为这个分数不公平。"老公在一边开玩笑说,"我们马上去学校找老师说清楚~"

儿子的作业共三页a4纸。老师的评语有三点,我大致看了一下,未得要领。于是告诉安慰他,妈妈晚饭后会读一遍他的"杰作",并给他一个second opinion。而后再商量一下如何同老师沟通一下。这时,烤箱里的披萨好了,及时抚平了儿子受伤的心。

我想,这也许是一个教儿子处理misunderstanding的好机会呢~

Finished reading his assignment just now~

Unfortunately, C+ is a fair mark in my opinion. Now it's a bit challenging for me to help him accept the result and make corrections/improvements~

Will talk to him once he has supper done~

Everything is going well~

I told him," unfortunately, to be honest, I agree with your teacher."
Then, I stopped and waited to see his reaction.

He appeared calm, so I continued~

We went through teacher's comments together to make sure he understood it. I also encouraged him making all the corrections. The recommendation I gave to him is to proofread at least once before handing in any project.

Finally, the correction has been made and I've signed the paper.
