路面纜車（英語：San Francisco cable car system）：為適應舊金山特有的山丘地形，而發展了獨特地底纜繩牽引式的纜車，俗稱「叮噹車」。舊金山纜車最早出現於1873年克雷街，後來逐漸成為20世紀初市區主要交通工具。1980年代因纜車行駛速度過慢，而且系統老舊又缺乏維修，市政府曾考慮要廢止纜車，後來保留了目前三條缐路：東西向的加利福尼亞街缐、南北向的跑華街-海德街缐（Powell-Hyde）及跑華街-梅森街缐（Powell-Mason）。纜車穿過主要旅遊地點，為舊金山最有名的特色之一。

優勝美地國家公園在西面有三個入口，從北至南分別是：CA-120、CA-140和CA-41；東面只有一個入口：CA-120（冬天封路）。CA-120是夏天穿越內華達山脈的少數交通要道之一，往北要到太浩湖以北的I-80，往南要到南加州的CA-58才能穿越山脈。在公園西邊，CA-120盤山而行，峰迴路轉，有一岔路去Hetch-Hetchy水庫；西入口120最常雪鏈管制，有段極為彎曲的盤山公路，路邊緊鄰陡峭落差的深遠山間，連夏天行駛都會感覺有些驚險，甚至有懼高症者可能會怕，頗長一段最高海拔到約6,300英呎，南入口41中高，有一小段最高海拔到約6,150英呎，西南入恐J豈erced River河谷最高海拔約4,000英呎揍惤虦夏140，幾乎很少雪鏈管制，但去之前先看國家公園網站和氣象，從舊金山或洛杉磯繞Mariposa行駛140入優勝美地很巧是都約增加23英哩路程。在公園東邊，CA-120穿越李氏峽谷（Lee's Canyon）的一段棧道，非常險峻，堪稱一項工程創舉。
CA-140沿著美熹德河而上，是這三條公路中所到達海拔最低的一條，因此若冬天參觀優勝美地國家公園的話，這條路乃是最佳選擇。沿著麥斯德河而上，優勝美地峽谷一開始是呈ｖ字型的，而且拐彎甚多；突然眼前闊然開朗，峽谷變寬，而且變得呈ｕ字型，這標記著過去冰川的冰舌到此為止：ｖ字型的是被液態水沖出來的峽谷，未經冰川洗禮，而ｕ字型峽谷乃經歷冰川那鬼斧神工的改造，讓你有如進入桃花源一般的感覺。
CA-41通往Fresno市。若要來往優勝美地國家公園和紅杉與國王峽谷國家公園，這條乃必經之路。
