Automattic 经营着世界上最大的单个WordPress Multisite - WordPress.Com。WordPress.Com 提供免费的个人 Blog 平台，同时有面向企业的专业收费服务。现在Automattic还提供其它SAAS模式的云服务，比如备份、安全、CND等等。

WooCommerce 做为免费的eCommerce WordPress Plugin，相当于基于 WordPress 的 eCommerce Platform。要快速搭建功能完善的电商网站，还要依靠更多的Plugin。几年前开始的时候，业界依旧停留在一次性收费、永久服务的旧的软件销售模式。现在成功的模式几乎都是SAAS，也就是用户需要付年费。

WordPress平台里面有很多免费的东西。同样功能的Plugin，可以找到免费的，也可以找到商业版付费的。WooTheme在被收购之前，有很多商业Plugin，卖的很好。

继续说下去的话就有意思了。比如说搭建电商网站，你可以

- 自己学习，用免费的 WordPress + WooCommerce + Plugins，同时加上无数次的 Trial + Fail，然后自己认为成了半个Web Designer，弄出一个自己看着还可以但实际漏洞百出的网站。

- 或者请人设计，省去无数次的 Trial + Fail，用同样免费的 WordPress + WooCommerce + Plugins，然后付几百或者上万的设计费用。

但最终，还要考虑 Domain registration, Web hosting, SSL, Payment account, Maintenance等等这些长期费用和后期服务。

用Shopify，几乎是同样的过程，但一下子就到了最后一步。你可以这样看，Shopify是一个WordPress+WooCommerce的电商搭建平台，同时提供Domain registration, Web hosting, SSL, Payment account, Maintenance。我个人比较欣赏的是它的Security Service。这是它和一般Web Hosting不同的地方。很多Web Hosting，比如GoDaddy的Security服务是基本不存在的。

专业Shopify网站设计的平均费用要比专业WordPress Developer 高出一两个档次。
