从化工专业的角度你绝对不优秀！思路决定出路，不要用蛮劲（因为你现在在Canada）. 放自己一条生路！ If you live just for research, no problem. You are not bad. After all, you had two first-author papers, although your work is on the basis of the previously-accumulated work from Dr. Saghir. At least you knew how to implement the PATANKAR's SIMPLE algorithm and to deal with CAVITY problem (not new matter, I should add here). But you should admit that you are far from being a Chemical Engineering Expert. If you lives to research, then you still has more time to prove yourself in Chemical Engineering field. But now you are so unfortunely living in North America full of great competition. And your research is completely related to work-seeking. Then, if you look back the ten-year youth you invested, you will feel what you achived is so little. In fact, high-quality PAPER or good paper-maker is not difficult to find research job, because every professor likes PUBLICATION. But now in your case, ten years, two common papers. I think most persons like you will find out that oneself is so weak in reality, although you ever kept 10-year dream. If not getting insight into the deatils of your publications and assuming you had opportunity to return to China, I think you will also have chance to re-find your lost confidence. However, now you are deciding to a Canada Citizenship (it is not-bad choice for our Chinese due to the VISA problem). Then, you are now in a position of being a very very common PhD student. One question is, on what you can use for supporting your family? Evidently, the answer will be "NO or NOT-EASY" if choosing to continue science research, unless you can prove yourself. At that time, who has so much youth to spend and who would like to risk the re-failure? Now you are not young and has no time to invest again. Maybe you should have thought to change career. If not, then you will strongly feel you are so tiny, unconfident and poor to face the high-pressure Canadian living. In fact, if you are NOT so sticking to science work, you should not have died in a way of jumping bridge. The biggest reason is the radical contradication between dream and reality. If any one CANNOT think it out completely, selecting death is very natural thing. The only solution for avoiding DEATH is forgetting your out-of-fashion excellence(After all, you are now a very common PhD student) and forgetting your loved "so-called" scientific theoretical research. Afterall, the competition in research in Canada is on an international level, any excellent persons will be exceeded by the new-comers, with evolution of time. 赞踩回复 0
