Reporting to the Manager, Cash & Banking the Treasury Clerk is primarily responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all wire transfers in the internet based banking systems for the corporate head office and other business units. Duties also include administration of letters of credit and the confirmation of Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate Swap transactions.
Responsibilities:
- Be a courageous safety leader, adhere to and sponsor safety and environmental rules and procedures
- Responsible for keeping the bank wire transfer systems up to date and efficient including the request, preparation and maintenance of repetitive templates and daily wire reporting.
- Responsible for the daily reconciliation of all the Canadian bank accounts in Teck’s Treasury Management System (Integrity) and following up with accounting, sites and operations to resolve any discrepancies.
- Responsible for the integration of emailed cash forecasts from various sites and operations into Integrity.
- Responsible for confirming with our bank Counterparties all Foreign Exchange and Interest Rate Swap Contracts.
- Responsible for the administration of Letters of Credit including preparation, amendments, reporting and related fees.
- Responsible for coordinating with our external auditors the annual bank confirmations both paper and electronic.
- Responsible for the distribution of various daily and monthly reports.
- Provides back-up support for Treasury Coordinator specifically in preparing the Daily Cash Report and monthly reconciliation of outstanding hedging trades.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education with finance orientation preferred
- Working toward the CPA,CTP designation (considered an asset)
- 1 to 3 years of relevant experience in a finance environment.
- Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Word and Outlook and advanced skills in Excel.
- The ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Effective interpersonal and verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work well in a team environment.
