看了下面的法律规定，就不会奇怪为什么邻居老师医生之类的人会报告儿童厅。

因为（你）如果怀疑儿童被虐待或疏于管理，不报儿童厅的话，会被处以1万加币罚款及入狱6个月。注意是怀疑而不是确定，确定的问题是儿童厅的责任，不是举报人的责任。

报警是遵守法律，不惹祸上身，不是没事找事。不报，才真有可能没事找事。

Duty to report need for protection

14 (1) A person who has reason to believe that a child needs protection under section 13 must promptly report the matter to a director or a person designated by a director.

(6) A person who commits an offence under this section is liable to a fine of up to $10 000 or to imprisonment for up to 6 months, or to both.

不去搭讪不打电话给儿童厅就犯罪了？要处以1万以下罚款或者坐牢6个月以下的刑罚？

如果所有的事情都可以用黑和白来区分，那是神不是人。

遇到执法人员，要冷静，不要自以为是，是保护自己的首要条件。一冲动，人家就真怀疑你有什么要HIDE 了。

如果你真的怀疑是疏于管理，不报，就是犯法。如果你认为大人在不远处看着呢，没报，不犯法。这个如何界定是否犯法，不是那么好届定的。看字面，就是这样。
