It is the first Global Android device from Verizon Wireless, and can roam in more than 220 countries. It has a 5 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash; a 3.1-inch touch display; a 1GHz processor; and will ship with Android 2.2.
Citrus: This simple, entry-level Android handset is meant for the first-time smartphone buyer. It has a compact, rounded shape and minimal features, but comes with Android 2.1 and the newest version of Motoblur. It will be sold by Verizon Wireless.
Bravo: Sports a large 3.7-inch touch display with 480x854 resolution, 800 MHz processor, and DLNA for streaming video over Wi-Fi to an HDTV, etc. It has a 3 megapixel camera. Available by the holidays for $130 with 2-year contract. This one is headed to AT&T.
Flipside: Sports a slide-out QWERTY keyboard and front touch trackpad, and a 3.1 inch touch display with 320x480 resolution. It also has a 3 megapixel camera. Available by the holidays for $100 with 2-year contract. This one is headed to AT&T.
Flipout: This one has a swivel design with full QWERTY keyboard. Specs include a 720 MHz processor, 3 megapixel camera, and QVGA display. Available October 17th for $80 with 2-year contract. This one is headed to AT&T.
LG
Optimus T: The Optimus T is LG's first smartphone for T-Mobile, and second Android phone for the U.S. It runs Android version 2.2, also includes a Wi-Fi personal hotspot feature, a 3.2-inch touch screen with Swype software for text entry. A 3 megapixel camera with auto-focus wraps things up.
Optimus S: Sprint is launching the LG Optimus S with its new Sprint ID software built in. The Optimus S will run Android 2.2 instead of 2.1. It is powered by a 600 MHz processor, and the screen is a 3.2-inch display.
Samsung
Transform: This QWERTY slider features an 800 MHz processor and dual cameras, a 3.2 megapixel main camera and a VGA camera up front for video chat. The Transform features a large 3.5-inch screen. It will be available on 10/10 from Sprint for $150 with a new contract.
Mesmerize: U.S. Cellular will be offering the Samsung Galaxy S Mesmerize starting October 27 for $199 after rebate. It is a rebadged Fascinate (which is already being sold by Verizon Wireless) and offers all the same hardware features. It runs Android 2.2, and will trade Verizon's services for U.S. Cellular's.
Huawei
Ascend: The Ascend is the second Android handset for Cricket, which will be available in the coming weeks for $150. It has a 3.5-inch HVGA display, 3G, Wi-Fi, 3.2 megapixel camera, microSD support, and Bluetooth. The Ascend will run Android 2.1 and will be available with a plan as low as $55.
