Rob Carrick: Burke: A great time to buy? Where'd you read that? Certainly not in anything written by me or any of my colleagues at The Globe and Mail. If anything, much of the reporting I've seen lately on real estate shows a bit of incredulousness creeping into the standard journalistic neutrality. Let me further point that the hot real estate story today is not that everything's hunky dory. What editors and reporters are all thinking about is whether the Canadian market is going down like the U.S. market.
Rob Carrick: Thanks to all the readers who chipped in with their questions today. We've had some great days in the real estate market here in Canada over the past several years, but the weakness in the U.S. housing market reminds us that all good things come to an end. There's nothing to suggest that our market will fall as hard as the one down south, but the days of marveling over how much your house is rising in value may soon be over for a while.
