周四下午，一架直升機墜入哈德遜河，導致1名飛行員在內的機上6人全部死亡。

據悉，機上的5名乘客來自一個西班牙游客家庭，包括2名成人和3名兒童。

紐約市消防局（FDNY）告訴《紐約郵報》，下午3點15分左右，目擊者看到直升機在西休斯頓街和西街的40號碼頭附近墜毀，“一分為二”，救援工作正在進行中。

警方說，事故發生在西側高速公路和春街附近，提醒周邊地區可能會由於大量緊急救援車輛而出現交通延誤。

社交媒體上的目擊者稱，直升機墜毀時發出了“巨大的撞擊聲”，似乎發生了螺旋槳故障。

官員稱，這架直升機現在漂浮在新澤西州邊界的哈德遜河上，靠近澤西城附近的荷蘭隧道。

官員稱，紐約市消防局（FDNY）海陸救援隊已抵達現場展開營救。

據聯邦航空管理局FAA發布的信息，涉事的是一架貝爾206型直升機，下午3點左右從曼哈頓下城直升機場起飛。

根據飛行追蹤網站的數據，直升機起飛後先在自由女神像附近盤旋一圈，然後沿哈德遜河向北飛行，在到達喬治華盛頓大橋後掉頭往南飛，總共飛行了約16分鍾後墜毀。
