多年来，大温地区房地产市场一直以独立屋和城市屋为主要居住形式，但随着房价高企，越来越多的人把眼光放到交通便利，地段配套良好的公寓上. 从2013年开始，大温房地产市场进入公寓时代，超过50%的销量来自于共享物业。

2014年4月大温地产更进一步，一家不很知名的地产公司（Tien Sher）开发宣布在素里市开发“迷你”公寓Balance，开盘15天即告售罄，成为大温公寓和可负担住房发展蓝图的先驱。 2015年4月11日，由WestStone地产集团在素里中心区开发的Evolve 微型公寓一经开盘，即涌入2000多买家看盘，当天即成功签约300余套，签约金额达7000万加元。市场入场疯狂，近年罕见，超出开发商预料。据该楼盘开发商透露，这些公寓本来主打年轻首购族，但发现投资者买的较多，最典型的就是父母买给孩子当大学宿舍，毕业后再拿出来出租。
